Christmas

It was a good Christmas for our family. We had a nice dinner on Christmas Eve followed by a few of Tom's slovak traditions of putting honey on the foreheads and saying a few words. We will keep the slovak centerpiece with the honey and other traditional pieces on the table until new years.

After church, the kids were not tired at all as seen in the picture. They wanted to laugh and stay up all night it seemed. Fortunately, Santa's rules of not coming until the kids are asleep worked in our favor.

The next morning Alyssa slept in. When I went to check on her at 8:15 she said she wasn't ready to open presents yet, she wanted to sleep. Fifteen minutes later she couldn't wait. She had a hard time deciding what presents were hers though since the tags were all marked with numbers. Alyssa received clothes, games, a jewelry box and some puzzle books. Nathan received an outfit and a rocking horse that makes gallop sounds.
