Nathan decided it was time that he moved out of the house for a few days and lived up in the tree. He packed his backpack with all the essentials - jammies, underwear, socks, (no shirts or shorts), books, crackers and a flashlight. He strapped on a pillow and his soccer pads for protection. He asked if I could tie him on the branch so that he wouldn't fall off when he fell asleep. We discussed it and determined that going to the bathroom would be tricky if he was tied up so he settled on hanging out in the playhouse that's part of the swing set instead. After about an hour he was done with the crackers and ready to come in. Maybe next year when he is 6 he will stay all night, he said.
